Diary and Notes

"Exterminate!"

"Where... is... the... Doc-tor?"

"We... are... the... Daleks... You... must... O-bey!"

You can come out from behind the sofa now, they're gone. I ate them.

But didn't they look fierce? There are three of them in the photo on the left, rolling out across the desolate wasteland of Skaro in search of the Kaleds, their ancient enemy. See how the ground is strewn with boulders from the thousands of years of nuclear apocolyptic war. Shiver in fear!

The photo on the right shows a Dalek alongside one of his fallen comrades, the squidgly gew inside all splatted on the ground. That'll teach him to mess with me.

Anyone fancy a jelly baby?

Irish brack. I bought this yesterday to go with my Irish meal but had some today instead. It was an excellenct fruity loaf. Perfect toasted with some butter.

Menu

  • Daleks
  • Boulders
  • Dalek Remains

    Ingredients*

    Daleks
    9 Bread Rolls
    2 Chicken Breasts
    3 Rashers Bacon
    3 Slices Cheddar Cheese
    1 Tomato
    6 Leaves Iceberg Lettuce
    3 cm Cucumber
    2 Black Olives
    6 Pickled Peppercorns
    1 Red Pepper
    1 Green Pepper
    Boulders of Skaro
    1/2 Kg Small Potatoes
    100ml Vegetable Oil
    1 tsp Cajun Seasoning

    Preparation

  • The Daleks are really just very tall club sandwiches. I cut out circles of bread with three different sized pastry cutters, toasted them, toasted some cheese on some. Griddled the chicken, roasted and skinned the peppers. The olives are for the plungers and the peppercorns for eyes.
  • The boulders are spicy potato wedges but of a different shape. I've done these before and the recipe is on the 'choose a recipe' part of the NoshBlog home site. The dalex remains are any leftover bits after you've used the pastry cutters to cut circles of bacon, cheese and cooked chicken, plus some ketchup, mayonnaise and French's American mustard for gew.
