Diary and Notes

It just goes on and on.

My war with technology that is and the constant pain to get the photos from my camera onto the website.

I've managed to sort out the account so the phone works as a phone now but can I send the photos to my web address? What do you think?

I've now made three separate calls to the lovely people at Orange customer services and have come to the conclusion that in a spotting the difference between arses and elbow competition they wouldn't be able to find the venue let alone compete.

I followed all the instructions in the little booklet they gave me with the phone (197 pages, 50 of which fell out the moment I opened it) and filled in the details as required - but did it work? Again I shall leave you to guess.

So I phoned the lovely people at Oragne and they said "Ah, there's a problem your end as your email account is not using the right POP3 type server. You'll have to set up an account with Orange on the internet."

This I duly did and the internet sent a message to my phone with the new setting and gave me an authorisation code to type in to accept the settings - however the code was wrong.

I phoned again and explained the problem and was told that this happens sometimes and they'd reset everything amnually and I'd get another message (in the next 24 hours) with the new details.

I still can't send photos from my phone via email and I can't download them straight to my computer as the software you get only works for Microsoft or Mac, we of course have Linux here at work so there's no luck there.

All I want is to take photos of my dinner and copy them onto a cpomuter using the phone I have just bought. Is that so much to ask?

So now I have to wait 24 hours for my phone to send photos. I've also had to change my telephone number as they said it would take 2 weeks to transfer my old one over and that they would give me a new temporary one in the mneantime - if I have to inform everyone of a temporary change of number, why don't I just inform them of a permanent change of number - it required the same amount of effort and I don't have to phone them all up two weeks olater and tell them to change back again.

Am I an idiot?

Is it that I am incapable of using modern technology? Am I following the instructions incorrectly?

No.

And Orange is a stupid name for a phone company anyway. I hope they all get scurvy.
