I had quite a long think about what to do for a final day. My original idea was to eat nothing and give the money from my non existent feast to Oxfam. This did seem a little sanctimonious and hypocritical considering all the food I've stuffed into myself throughout this year. My other plan was to deliberately fail my challenge by having a traditional roast beef dinner - in the spirit of "It's not the winning but the playing of the game." that's important. But then seeing as I'd handed in my PhD and it was time for a bit of a celebration I changed my mind and decided to do something a little more in keeping with the true spirit of my blog. All I am going to say is: Grand Buffet at the Yang Sing in Manchester.
Goodbye my friends and if you are ever in Manchester you really must have this one day for a treat - I wont describe each dish as I couldn't do the food justice. Try it for yourselves - this must be the best Chinese restaurant in Britain by far.
Hopefully I'll be back in the new year as 'Captain Fad' - a different food fad/scare-mongered inspired diet, based on what I read in the Daily Mail or Daily Express, every week. Until then I'm going to take a break and enjoy eating whatever I want, whenever I want it - roll on the kebabs and chips.
And in the words of Bill & Ted: Be excellent to each other.
So long - and thanks for all the fish.
