It was Isis's birthday party today and instead of a Disney Princess or Lovely Fairies theme, she chose - monsters. Yes monsters. It took a bit of prodding from me, but eventually she made up her mind that it was better to do something different. Of course I am a tyrant and this was all my doing, but we tyrants must exert our power.
She really does love playing monsters though.
We had all the normal games, musical statues (played to the Wizard by Black Sabbath), a really big pass the parcel with monster prizes, some 'making' as it is now called (colouring, sticking and glueing, all with a monster theme) and a game I called monster scrum which didn't quite work but eveybody loved anyway.
At some point during the madness we did a head count. 13.
Thirteen little girls, all dressed as witches, devils or vampires.
We had a coven - now all we needed was a cauldron.
There was quite a bit of cackling.
There was also quite a bit of magic.
All in all, an excellent party. The party food was eaten as though it were broth of magic flying mushrooms and as far as I can tell they seemed to enjoy themselves.
There are a lot of photos of the event but I can't put them on the web in case this invokes bad magik due to showing the true power of the witches (plus I would need to get written consent from all the parents - most of whom had taken the opportunity to bugger off and do something better instead).
When all the witches and daemons flew home on their respective modes of transport (broomsticks, flying carpets, scooters, cars...) I rustled up a very quick dinner which the remaining witches seemed to love.
I'm pretty sure Olias is the Ipsissimus due to his odd mystical sounds "Agn - mumnu, plth..." or was it just baby stuff?
And the video - I couldn't find Hayseed Dixie doing 'The Wizard' but thought 'War Pigs' was close enough,
plus it sings about witches at black masses, you must know the song.
Almost as good as Ozzy (the devil incarnate) himself.
